Located near the town of Frankling, NC, the Wayah Bald Lookout Tower is a stone tower that provides outstanding views of the Blue Ridge Mountains and the Nantahala Forest to the south of the area.
The tower is of easy access, with a parking lot nearby and an accessible walkway to the viewing stone-paved patio at the foot of the tower.
The Appalachian Trail crosses the tower area. Bears can frequently be seen walking around the nearby forest.
